Although there are several types of crowns, all porcelain crowns or zirconium crowns are the most beautiful, because they resemble your natural teeth and they don't have the gray area commonly seen with porcelain crowns with a metal sub-structure. They are highly durable and will last many years. Porcelain and Zirconium crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color or your teeth giving you a natural, long-lasting beautiful smile.

What does getting a dental crown involve?
A crown procedure usually requires two appointments. Your first appointment will include taking several highly accurate molds (dental impressions) that will be used to create your custom crown. A mold will also be used to create a temporary crown which will stay on your tooth for approximately 1 week until your new crown is fabricated by a dental laboratory.
Procedures and timeframes:
- 1st visit: Clean and shape the tooth and take a mold to be sent to the lab to fabricate the custom made crown. At this 1st visit we will place a temporary crown on the tooth that you will wear while your crown gets fabricated.
-
2nd visit: It normally takes the lab 4-5 bussiness days to complete the crowns...at this second visit we will remove the temporary crown(s) and make sure your new crown fits properly. Then proceed to cement the crown onto your tooth.
-
Note: The normal timeframe between taking the mold and for the lab to finish the crowns and deliver to us is 4-5 bussiness days. If for any reason you need to finish your work in a shorter timeframe, you can let use know in advance and we can make arrengements to expedite the work.
